The Vice Chancellor of UWC, Professor Brian O’Connell, invites you to save the date for the 11^th Annual Julius Nyerere Lecture on Lifelong Learning. This will be held on Thursday 30 October 2014 from 12 – 14h30 at UWC’s Senate Building. Professor Shirley Walters, who is project leader for the ‘Re-membering South African Traditions of Popular Education’, is coordinator of this year’s event. It will be a creative, innovative occasion which will include a performance by a well-known Indian Street Theatre Company, Jana Natya Manch, as a manifestation of popular education in action. We look forward to your participation as we discuss and debate popular education’s role in creating a vibrant democratic society.
