11th Annual Julius Nyerere Lecture on Lifelong Learning, 30 October 2014
The Vice Chancellor of UWC, Professor Brian Oâ€™Connell, invites you to save the date for the 11th Annual Julius Nyerere Lecture on Lifelong Learning. This will be held on Thursday 30 October 2014 from 12 â€“ 14h30 at UWCâ€™s Senate Building. Professor Shirley Walters, who is project leader for the â€˜Re-membering South African Traditions of Popular Educationâ€™, is coordinator of this yearâ€™s event. It will be a creative, innovative occasion which will include a performance by a well-known Indian Street Theatre Company, Jana Natya Manch, as a manifestation of popular education in action. We look forward to your participation as we discuss and debate popular educationâ€™s role in creating a vibrant democratic society.
