Outsourced services: know your rights

In South Africa, municipalities increasingly outsource basic services such as sanitation to private companies. Unaccountable and poorly monitored, these contractors mandate is to increase profits - not progressively realise our human rights to health, dignity and equality.

If poor and working class communities can understand what their government has agreed with these companies, then they can help to monitor them - in order to do that we need access to the contracts or service delivery agreements - which must be made public by law.

Ndifuna Ukwazi has produced a fold out poster with all the information communities need to know on outsourced services - know your rights.
