Workshop on 'Working with Power'
The Popular Education programme (PEP) invites you to a
Workshop on Working with Power
One of the important things that makes popular education different from other education is its constant engagement with questions of power. If we wish to affect transformation we need to understand power relations, and how to challenge imbalances of power.
In this workshop we will examine sources and uses of visible and invisible power through a broad range of participatory activities. Drawing on insights from the previous workshop on ‘organising and mobilising’, we will further investigate how advocacy necessitates shifts in power!
Date: Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October 2015
Time: 9H00 – 15H00 (both days)
Place: Athlone Community Centre (see directions below)
Refreshments will be served and we look forward to seeing you there.
Please indicate attendance by e-mailing poped2011@gmail.com as soon as possible for logistical purposes.
Regards
The PEP Team
